As one might imagine, contracting COVID-19 and being sent to your room for ten days is a thing that generates extra opportunity to spend time doing mildly entertaining or marginally beneficial stuff, and stuff.
Thus, this.
God has come down!
Taking on mortality and dying flesh,
The Christ has visited us!
The burden he carried to the cross, no one can know.
He cared what we thought, lifting all our baggage
of prejudice and pride, yet
knowing how we would respond
to His truth.
So, today we were talking about how there is no such thing as "twice as slow," or, "twice as cold." This idiom is a favorite pet peeve of mine, because it is so utterly meaningless, yet when someone says it, you somehow know exactly what they mean. They simply mean, "Dang!
Proof of God's existence is given by the fact that anyone asks whether He exists.
What is the smallest knowable piece of information? I find this consideration a most worthy thought exercise. There are several closely related questions:
The whispering hush
Of the breeze through the rushes
On the shores of Emmigrant Lake.
A hot summer day
With our feet in red clay
Molding patties on the rocks there to bake.
Then Moses asked God, “If I go to the Israelites and say to them: The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, ‘What is His name? ’ what should I tell them? ” God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.”

It is an exceedingly beautiful and wondrous paradox: that the sovereign God of the universe has called us not unto blind, rote, or automatic conformity with His will, but unto willing obedience and submission to His will, which we cannot do without His help.
